From 2 April, the Jardin de l'Arquebuse opens its new exhibition "MIAM! I eat therefore I am". A variation of the exhibition designed by the Musée de l'Homme/Muséum national d'Histoire naturelle, which tackles a subject that affects us all in a multidisciplinary and entertaining way: food.
How is Man, as a species, defined by what he eats?
How does the act of eating, vital and daily, shape our identities through cultural practices, rituals or prohibitions? What role has food played in our evolution?
What are the environmental impacts of producing the resources needed to feed humanity today and tomorrow? What if we consumed nature differently? What are the contemporary and future challenges on a global scale for food production and consumption patterns? Food under the prism of research. What about us, what are our food practices? What links do we have with our environment?
So many questions that intersect food, culture and nature, art and science... are addressed through a unique visiting experience, at the crossroads between past, present and future.
This exhibition, presented in Paris in 2019-2020, will be enhanced and adapted to the "Dijon sauce"!
