La Forêt des Enfants (The Children's Forest) is a participative initiative launched by Dijon Metropole in 2015 to promote biodiversity.
The principle is simple: every time a child is born, a tree is planted (birth of a child in the metropolitan area between October 2022 and September 2023).
Some 8,000 trees have already taken root on the Plateau de la Cras and the Chemin de la Rente de Giron. The children's forest is expanding and reinforcing the green belt around Dijon, eventually forming a natural corridor linking up with the Plateau de la Cras.
