Les Visites d’été de la Maison natale de Saint-Bernard de Fontaine-lès-Dijon

Saint Bernard of Clairvaux (1091-1153) is also called Bernard of Fontaine, after the place of his birth. The fortified castle entrusted to the care of his father Tescelin was the place where Aleth de Montbard gave birth to his children: an extraordinary family, which gave Europe and the Church a remarkable son, a trainer of men and a thinker of the first order. The hill of Fontaine keeps the moving memory of the origins of this Burgundian who wrote a part of history with a capital H and who raised the hope of the world.

Come and hear the story of Saint Bernard's life in the place of his birth, and discover the exceptionally well-preserved hill, where one of the most famous Burgundians of all time grew up!
