"It's no secret that I have a great passion for tango. I have already told that the first sung voice I heard as a child was that of Carlos Gardel, coming out of a sizzling LP that my father adored. Later, between funny tributes ("L'Homme A La Moto" translated into "El Hombre con la motocycletta" with a cheap Argentinean accent which became a standard of my solo piano concerts) and serious reverences ("Volver" recorded in the "No Parano" cd) this childhood passion is not feigned, nor extinguished
So when I met the Silbando orchestra whose album "Mano Sinistra" I had listened to with delight, besides the fact that I offered them to open for me at the Salle Pleyel in April 2019, I knew that the adventure would continue in one way or another.
And so it begins today
With Chloë Pfeiffer, pianist, arranger and conductor, we have decided to revisit part of my repertoire - plus a few standards of French song - because part of my repertoire owes a lot to my "tangueras" habits as a composer, and because part of French song has also been nourished by the popularity of tango in its own culture, sometimes parodic, often serious, always in love.
Singing with this magnificent Silbando, which is reminiscent of the great Argentinean orchestras such as those of Osvaldo Pugliese or Leopoldo Federico, can be summed up in one formula: "I'm going to enjoy it! "
You too! "
