This new route, dedicated to plant foods, completed by a redesigned and harmonised signage, will result in the installation of new plants, in the heart of the botanical garden, in the spirit of a French garden, according to four themes:
- Plant biodiversity , to discover the many wild and cultivated food plants, placed in their diversity.
- Travelling plants, to explore the paths of the plants that feed humanity.
- Tasty plants , to dive into the heart of plant molecules and discover their gustatory riches
- Vital plants , for a healthy diet in a food system
The Jardin de l'Arquebuse contributes, through this new pathway, to the food transition of the region. It is fully in line with the strategic positioning of Dijon Metropole in the fields of gastronomy and viticulture, agro-ecology, taste and nutrition. It promotes the numerous research and actions carried out in the region by scientific partners, particularly in the framework of the metropolitan project "Dijon, Sustainable Food 2030".
In addition, there will be a tour presenting the diversity of wine grape varieties throughout the world. Located just a few hundred metres from the starting point of the Burgundy Grands Crus route, the Jardin de l'Arquebuse will contribute to the discovery of grape varieties in the heart of Dijon, a historic winegrowing city located within the perimeter of the Climats du vignoble de Bourgogne, a Unesco World Heritage site.
This summer, a digital tour will complete your visit by allowing you to discover the new themes of the garden in a fun and family-friendly way.
