From 7 February to 28 March 2023, we are hosting an exhibition by Dijon-based animal painter Florian Labaye on birds in connection with sustainable tourism, environmental conservation and biodiversity and in partnership with the LPO (Ligue de protection des oiseaux de Bourgogne).
Through his work, Florian LABAYE creates a contemporary figurative painting influenced by street art and comics. In his creations, fauna, flora and humans cross paths, respond to each other and merge in a chimerical dance.
Canvas, fresco, comic strip, illustration, silk-screen printing, he is a creator who has always developed a polymorphic artistic practice.
The works he creates are distinguished by their complex details, dynamic staging and narrative sensitivity.
Through his works, he invites the viewer to question his own nature and that which surrounds us.

In 2012, the LPO (League for the Protection of Birds) celebrated its centenary and for this occasion, nine Burgundian naturalist photographers agreed to take part in the game and to present, through a travelling exhibition, numerous pictures representing birds that can be seen in the Côte-d'Or, but also in Saône-et-Loire.
This exhibition, which has since been travelling to libraries and media libraries in the department, is an opportunity for all audiences to discover the extraordinary beauty of the birds that live alongside us every day.
