Le songe d’une nuit d’été

A Shakespearean tale
Jean-Michel d'Hoop, who directs this Dream and has allowed himself a few liberties, sees it as a kind of fairytale vaudeville, an epic love story set in the deep Shakespearean forests, filled with passions, secrets, lovers' pursuits and cross-fertilisation with elves and fairies.
The magical woods to which we are invited unleash the forces of both imagination and impulse. Far from the laws of the court of Athens, they are home to a place on the fringes, a squat frequented by revellers and night owls.
The puppets, typical of the work of the Point Zéro company, offer a formidable space for play and confusion: feminine, masculine, actor, puppet... inviting us to both "awaken our senses" and "celebrate theatre".

"Twirling, teeming, fantastical and feminist, Cie Point Zéro's adaptation of Shakespeare's text is also in tune with current concerns, tackling questions of gender and sexual identity (...) A festival for the eyes and the zygomatic. Laurence Bertels, La Libre Belgique
