Exposition “Sentinelles de la nuit” de Lola Gonzàlez

"At first, I created a lot of work with frontal, unambiguous messages. Then I became wary of a certain form of cynicism and decided to distance myself from this kind of authoritarian art. So I returned to cinema, a medium that had haunted me for a long time.

I made around fifteen films over the last two years of school. They are all hybrid works with music and singing. These fictions allowed me to stage the questions I was asking myself about the complicated relationship between reality and love, friendship, politics and current affairs.

When you watch them, you quickly realise that these films give no answers and leave a lot to interpretation, because the stories are completely open-ended."
