Musicales de Fontaine ” Les Toiles Musicales, hommage à Jean Renaut “

Scène Fontainoise, in partnership with the town of Fontaine-lès-Dijon, invites you to a recital by pianist Bertrand Coynault. "Les Toiles Musicales, a tribute to Jean Renaut
This show is an invitation to reverie and discovery. It plunges you into the world of the painter Jean Renaut (1905-1979), one of the most representative Burgundian painters of the 20th century.
Very sensitive to nature, he began with watercolours that conveyed the emotion he felt in front of landscapes of lakes, snow or villages... before gradually devoting himself to oil painting after the war.
His sources of inspiration were initially his family, then female figures, groups of students, couples in love, musicians, landscapes... His style evolved away from the figurative and towards abstraction, where lines and patches of colour crystallised into figures.
Bertrand Coynault explores this pictorial universe through musical compositions by Beethoven (Sonata No.31 Op.110), Chopin (Barcarolle - Scherzo No.3), Debussy (excerpts from the Preludes) and Ravel (La valse).
The painter's paintings, projected onto the stage, take on a new dimension thanks to the music, which highlights their colours, shapes and emotions.
The "Toiles musicales" concert will be followed by a short video presentation of the Folies "Du classique à l'inattendu" on 4-5-6 April.
