A Love Suprême – Xavier Durringer

Without notice. Bianca is in shock. Overnight, she has to clean out her locker, kicked out after 32 years. She tries to understand, but she knows that the new generation is pushing her back. Bianca is a stripper. Or she was...

Times are tough, as they say; employers even tougher. In the face of digital competition, Bianca is no longer profitable. It is a terrible struggle to grow old and to accept growing old. Xavier Durringer, a film-maker, actor and playwright, has known Nadia Fabrizio for many years. He wrote this one-woman show especially for her, which she performs superbly, taking us through thirty years of the history of a mythical district of the capital's nights. Against the backdrop of the accelerated disappearance of a certain working-class Paris, where poverty itself now seems to have changed in nature, the street stripper measures at her own expense how much the world around her has changed, as she watches the drum of the Laundromat turn... A portrait of a woman without concessions, but with touches of humour, as Dominique Pitoiset concludes that "the urgency of the sudden vision of the precipice can also be comical".
