In the tradition of their superb recording of melodies by the couple Robert Dussaut and Hélène Covatti, the Guatemalan soprano and her partner Iñaki Encina Oyón explore the delicate art of combining piano and voice. Between the golden age of French melody and the seduction of Spanish rhythms and harmonies, irrigated by the spirit of dance and zarzuela, a whole civilization comes alive in this exceptional recital. The grace of Duparc rubs shoulders with the modernity of Ravel and the imponderable poetry of Mompou, but it is also rarely sung pieces by Dussaut, Covatti or Obradors that Adriana Gonzalez, a great Mozartian, offers us, alongside her great operatic roles.
