As part of the "Les nuits d'Orient et d'Ailleurs" 2024 festival in Dijon, ClairObscur-Lyrique presents "Ailleurs" - A lyrical flute-chant-conte-piano-flamenco guitar concert.
From the 18th to the 20th century, music took us on a journey to "Elsewhere".
Composers drew their inspiration from the East and Andalusia to create new colours in Western music.
ClairObscur-Lyrique invites you to follow the vocals, flute, piano and flamenco guitar as they take you on a flamenco-sounding journey to Elsewhere.
The warm colours and alliance between the lyrical voice and the instruments are an invitation to travel.
The shimmering tones of the flute evoke the mysterious Orient of 1001 Nights.
It's the powerful, percussive timbre of the flamenco guitar in Seville, in the heart of the Alcazar, a palace combining Hispanic art and Islamic culture.
Each room is a stroll where the scent of orange trees, lilies and roses settles on a warm breeze on a summer's evening.
Sylvie, Caroline, Mathilde and Brice will guide you through tales of the Orient and Elsewhere.
Grésilles Nouveau Souffle will be offering a tea room with oriental sweets on Saturday 30 November.
The Lumière d'Orient association and its enchanted palace will be joining us on our journey "Elsewhere".
