Founded in 1988 by Marijo Gros and Véronique Mathiaut, teachers, dancers and choreographers with a passion for dance, the Art Danse festival was the first major contemporary dance event in Burgundy. Since the merger of the two regions, it has become the major event for choreographic creation in Burgundy Franche Comté. Its high-quality programme is at the crossroads of contemporary aesthetics and the varied careers of regional, national and international artists. It highlights projects supported by the CDCN. A festival without a venue since its inception, Art Danse was built up through partnerships with regional venues. Since 2020, it has refocused on the Dijon metropolitan area and now extends well beyond its regional borders.
The next edition will take place from 16 March to 6 April 2024.
