aSH

According to Aurélien Bory, author, director and stage designer of international renown, Shantala Shivalingappa is an extraordinary dancer. Trained as a child in Kuchipudi, which she performs with a grace, sensitivity and technical mastery that are recognized in India and throughout the world, she has also danced for the greatest European choreographers and artists: Maurice Béjart, Peter Brook,
Bartabas, Pina Bausch.
The meeting between Aurélien Bory and Shantala Shivalingappa gave birth to aSH, a moving work, which vibrates with the percussionist Loïc Schild, makes "space dance" and travels between East and West, ancestral culture and contemporary creation, fire and ice. It is on the figure of Shiva, god creator and destroyer, but also
of dance that Shantala's art is built on. In her dance, the geometry of her gestures made of points, spirals, symmetries, prints the space and the ground of ashes. Fragile, volatile, ephemeral drawing. Shadow and light.
