Architectural ceramics
If I talk about my work as an artist, I am also talking about a conflict, established by two fundamental aspects of my main activity. Ever since I started at the Academy of Fine Arts in Stuttgart, I have been deeply attracted to architectural concepts. This in no way requires ceramics. On the other hand, the realisation of my ideas is limited by the soft, delicate clay and the risks involved in firing.
But ceramics is undoubtedly my most important ongoing passion.
My architectural visions are therefore limited and wrapped up in the qualities of the chosen material.
Ceramics is an adventure, a source of inspiration and a guide to surprising discoveries. The conflict between these two coexisting passions has resulted in a dialogue and, ultimately, a chronology of creations since 1989.
The exhibition in the Chapelle les Élus will therefore be a presentation of the current state of my work.
Since 2020 my establishment, including my studio, gallery, shop and home has been located in Flavigny-sur Ozerain in the part of the former Ursuline convent. It is called TerreTouchée. There you will discover the universe of my creations.
