Concert “Fantaisies”

Jean-Samuel Bez (violin) - Jean-Luc Therrien (piano) - Chamber Music

A fluctuating musical form at the frontiers of improvisation, sometimes a free compilation, fantasy is also something between fantasy and the dreamed image, an eminently romantic fantasy world that offers itself to us in all its richness. A world that inspired violinist Jean-Samuel Bez and pianist Jean-Luc Therrien for their new album "Fantaisies" (Klarthe). Living on both sides of the Atlantic, the two musicians present an intense and passionate programme. We find the shimmering colours of Lili Boulanger and Olivier Messiaen and the virtuosity of the Austrian Fritz Kreisler. These past masters are joined by the oriental fantasy "Artsakh", both sparkling and dramatic, commissioned from the French-Armenian composer Eugénie Alécian.
