EXPOSITION : Les oubliés. Les ducs et duchesses de Bourgogne

Who remembers the wars between Duke Hugues III and the King of France at the end of the 12th century? Or when Dijon became the capital of the duchy? Who remembers that the Dukes of Burgundy were kings of an eastern kingdom? Who remembers the expulsion of the Jews from the duchy in 1306?

The Dukes of the Capetian House of Burgundy have fallen into oblivion. Yet they played a key role in the history of the Kingdom of France, ruling the Duchy of Burgundy for four centuries between the 11th and 14th centuries.

Because the Forgotten are also the Forgotten, the history of the duchesses and their government is retraced. This is an opportunity to draw up a history of female power.
