"In my work, sculptures are conceived as a global network in which information circulates. In these papier-mâché neural networks, ideas, videos and images are transmitted. Tinkered with paper and tape, they bear witness to the fragility of certain discourses or reveal strange content with sometimes dubious ideological underpinnings.
Drawing on mainstream online media, I turned to the resurgence of New Age and contemporary spiritual practices for this project. The New Age has often been described as a metanetwork, underlining its specificity in crossing several beliefs and mixing networks. The proliferation of online spiritual coaches and influencers over the last ten years reflects a general need to heal and rediscover meaning where it has been lost. The term conspirituality has been used to describe the specific form that this set of beliefs has taken since the early 2010s via social networks. These practices carry with them an enormous fictional and utopian universe, but also a very high potential for abuse. It is this ambiguity that will be the focus of this project.
