Malian diva Fatoumata Diawara and her musicians bring an exceptional concert to the Opéra de Dijon, combining the talent of the Orchestre Dijon Bourgogne with the sounds of yakandi, the traditional rhythm of Mandingo country.
Surrounded by her musicians and accompanied by the Orchestre Dijon Bourgogne, the singer Fatoumata Diawara will perform mainly songs from her album Maliba. As an international ambassador for Malian culture, Fatoumata Diawara uses her music to promote dialogue between cultures and peace, as well as recognising Africa's cultural contribution to the world, particularly through the preservation of the manuscripts of Timbuktu, threatened by the jihadist insurrection. Maliba is all this: a testimony through which the singer evokes the rich traditions of West Africa, and a tribute to the culture and struggles of an entire people.
