Howl2122

Howl2122 expresses the student voice, and bears witness to a collective memory, that of those who lived through the confinement. It is not a documentary, but a poetic statement rooted in the reality of the "sacrificed generation".
Director Laure Catherin and her team spent a week in October 2021 immersing themselves in the students on the Rennes 2 campus, interviewing them and listening to them, drawing on the soundscape of the campus. Inspired by Barbara Stiegler's De la démocratie en pandémie and Allen Ginsberg's Howl, Howl2122 is a live performance combining spoken word and rap.
