Île is a fictional dance piece focusing on the environment and resilience. Inspired by the theory of the collapse of Easter Island, choreographer Lohan Jacquet uses the body to explore the consequences of resource depletion and the possibilities of resilience.
Four unique inhabitants of an island witness the destruction of their land and are faced with a desolate space. At first powerless, they are driven into a state of fatigue and trance from which they struggle to break free. Then, through their strength of resilience, they gradually experience a new relationship with space, with others and with themselves: a space of harmony and solidarity.
