It takes the World of Dinosaurs exhibition team a whole day to set up the various species of dinosaurs, some of which are equipped with a sensor that makes them move as visitors pass by, depending on the sometimes complex configurations of certain rooms.
A total of 30 dinosaurs, 13 of them animated, are on display, ranging from the tiny Protoceratops to the Tyrannosaurus. An imposing life-size Tyrannosaurus, also known as T-Rex, measuring 13.5 metres long and 4.5 metres high. Opposite this Cretaceous giant will be the Spinosaurus, 8 metres long and 3 metres high, and both robotic too! There are also three replica fossils, including a complete Allosaurus skeleton. Most are life-size, while others are to scale. For each dinosaur on display, there's an explanatory panel telling you how big it was, when it lived, what it ate... At last you'll know that our 14-metre-long Apatosaurus was a fan of foliage, while the 10-metre-long Deinosuchus, ancestor of the crocodile, was a real carnivore!
Learning while having fun! The aim of the exhibition is to present the giants of the Mesozoic era as realistically as possible, with some basic information. A leaflet with games and a number of questions is distributed to all visitors, who will be able to find the answers on the thirty or so educational panels throughout the exhibition, providing an interesting insight into the living conditions, shapes and sizes of a species that once dominated our own!
