The story begins like a tale many of us know: in a wood, the big bad wolf meets Little Red Riding Hood. He immediately hatches a diabolical plan - since he claims to be "the cleverest" - to devour the child... so he approaches Grandma's house, puts on his pink shirt and night cap, and...
The rest, made up of embarrassing encounters with the three little pigs, the seven dwarfs and Prince Charming, is the work of Mario Ramos, a Belgian children's author who has left us many light-hearted and ironic stories that have made his reputation, and of Teatro Gioco Vita, an Italian company well known for the quality of its theatre, which combines contemporary texts and shadow theatre, of which it is one of the European specialists.
The very clever Andrea Coppone, the actor-narrator who plays all the characters in the story, takes us into a surprising world where the surrealist dimension of the fairy tale and the realistic dimension clash to comic effect. Together, we laugh at a wolf with very human weaknesses and features.
Laughing at him, isn't it also a salutary experience to laugh at ourselves... and our humanity...?
