We are in a prison hospital.
Faced with a shortage of organ donations, the government is introducing a state programme called "Reciprocity", which offers prisoners the chance to have their sentence commuted in exchange for a part of their body. In this case, their eyes. Lying on a bed and equipped with a virtual reality headset, each viewer becomes the hero of the film being shown and plays with the actors speaking to them: in the enclosed space of a hospital room, they share the fate of the inmate being prepared for the operation.
More than a sensationalist experience, the power of virtual reality here serves a new way of writing about intimacy, blurring the boundaries between the virtual and the real by offering an immersive scenography that plays on the real presence of one of the film's actresses...
In fact, this show invents a new form of involvement, with the spectator occupying a new place in the story and in the theatrical experience.
"In Les Falaises de V., the technical achievement is striking: surrounded by ten other people in a dark, silent room, you put on the headphones intended for your eyes. The world that appears before us is astonishing: both realistic and slightly theatrical, it immediately places us at the heart of a story, leaving us space to find our bearings and explore. The process works perfectly. But this visual work also draws its strength from the accompanying soundtrack, which is perfectly immersive and aesthetically pleasing, with no heavy-handed effects".
