"Brahms today - Beethoven au naturel
On the programme, three sonatas for violin and piano inspired by Nature:
- Graciane Finzi "Winternacht" (2018): This 4-movement sonata for violin and piano is written opposite Johannes Brahms' 3rd Sonata, from which Finzi comes to steal some notes from the composer.
- Beethoven "Sonata No. 5 in F Major Op.24" (1801): The nickname "Spring" defines the climate and aesthetic of this work.
- Brahms "Sonata No.3 in D minor Op.108" (1887): Brahms wrote his triptych of sonatas on the shores of Lake Thun, Switzerland, and took this environment as his muse.
