Orchestre Dijon Bourgogne & Orchestre Symphonique de Mâcon

Fancy a stroll through some remarkable soundscapes? The Orchestre Dijon Bourgogne and the Orchestre Symphonique de Mâcon have combined their talents to bring you a new format of family concerts, open to young and old alike.

Imagine two orchestras, the Orchestre Dijon Bourgogne and the Orchestre Symphonique de Mâcon, in the company of conductor David Hurpeau and narrator Thierry Weber, whose voice will guide you through a world of enchanting sounds. Come and discover that some of the orchestra's instruments are better suited to transforming into tornadoes or storms, others particularly well-suited to illustrating floral and woody motifs, and still others more aquatic or more ethereal, more mysterious or more warbling. In André Popp's Symphonie écologique, which some of you may know from Piccolo, Saxo and Cie, the music speaks of the earth, the elements, the clash of mankind and the rebirth of flowers in spring. In The Sorcerer's Apprentice, the symphonic poem by Paul Dukas that many may have discovered in Walt Disney's Fantasia, the orchestra recounts the little sorcerer's futile attempts to control his enchantment and the... inevitable flood.
