Pôle Position #3

"PÔLE POSITION - JEUNE CRÉATION" in Burgundy - Franche-Comté is a scheme to provide support and professional guidance for young artists, the result of discussions with artists and those involved in contemporary art in the Burgundy - Franche-Comté region. Five artists will benefit from residencies and exhibitions, the first of which will be held at the FRAC Bourgogne from 23 February to 23 March 2024. The artists are: Marie Follea, Eléa Fouchard, Anselme Sennelier, Louis Simonnet and Paul Tiberghein.

Since 2021, with the support of the Direction Régionale des Affaires Culturelles and in collaboration with its members, Seize Mille has been offering young artists graduating in less than 3 years from art colleges in the region* the chance to show their work in various contemporary art venues in the region.
The winning artists are selected by a jury made up of representatives from the network, visual arts advisers from the DRAC Bourgogne - Franche-Comté and representatives from the partner distribution structures.
After two years focused on distribution, with a selection of 18 to 20 artists presented in 7 to 8 exhibitions across the region, this third edition is moving towards more extensive support for young artists.

From 2024 onwards, Pôle Position will be supporting the 5 winning artists with the following events over the course of the year:
- Three group exhibitions, at the Frac Bourgogne, Dijon, the Musée des Beaux-Arts de Dole and Hors[ ]Cadre with the Théâtre d'Auxerre,
- A production grant for each artist,
- A residency at one of the partner venues,
- A text written by an art critic, and a listing in the Seize Mille network's new online directory of artists in Burgundy - Franche-Comté.
