To put an end to her romance with the Prince, Sylva Maresco has decided to embark on a tour of the Americas. In order to keep the woman he loves close to him, Edwin undertakes, in the presence of a notary, to marry Princess Czardas within the next two months. But Prince Leopold-Marie de Liebensdorf did not want a mismatch for his son. He sent his brother, Colonel von Rohndorf, to Budapest to bring Edwin back to Vienna. The Prince also announced the engagement of Edwin to the Countess Stasi.
