Quand la musique électro fait danser Dijon, plus de 30 ans d’histoire culturelle à travers les archives

Housed in the Musée de la Vie Bourguignonne, this temporary exhibition will immerse visitors in the history of electronic music in Dijon, which began in the second half of the 1970s and continues today with a particularly active local scene.

Based on almost two years' worth of archive material (flyers, posters, photographs) and oral testimonies, and supplemented by numerous loans (clothing, objects, vinyl records), in addition to the administrative documents already held by the city on this subject, the exhibition will enable the public to immerse themselves in the electro movement as a culture and a way of life.

The visual arts, dance and technology are just some of the aspects covered to evoke this multi-faceted culture that so many people love with one common goal in mind: to party.

The unprecedented nature of the presentation of this history by an archive department within a social museum, and the strong partnership dimension of the project, testify to the ambition of the City of Dijon to demonstrate the lasting influence of electronic music on society and contemporary culture.

The exhibition will feature a number of highlights, including guided tours, round-table discussions and a presentation of the educational project La Classe L'Œuvre!
