Concert-lecture et dégustation : Les fastes de Bacchus

Les Fastes de Bacchus highlights Burgundy and its Climats, its history, its heritage, its writers, its art of living and its wines.
The reigns of Louis XIV and Louis XV saw the emergence of a whole repertoire of popular tunes recounting the ups and downs of society at the time. These tunes, dedicated to the ups and downs of each individual, are all 'natural' and pleasant melodies with a beautiful theatricality, rich in spontaneity and freshness. By exploring the light-hearted, hedonistic side of things, l'air à boire invites us to sing about the pleasures of grapes and wine!

As a counterpoint, the readings will pay tribute to the great Burgundian writers such as Bernard de La Monnoye (1641-1728) and Alexis Piron (1689-1773), not forgetting Voltaire, who, from Ferney, claimed to be a winegrower and wrote "I know of nothing more beautiful here below than the work of the vine".

The tasting will include red wines from the Côte de Nuits and the Côte de Beaune...
