Conférence – Vinciane Despret “Les Morts à l’œuvre”

The Société Philosophique de Bourgogne and the Consortium Museum are pleased to invite you to Vinciane Despret's lecture "Les Morts à l'œuvre" on Wednesday 10 April 2024 at 7pm at the Consortium Museum. A debate will be led by Jean-Philippe Pierron, philosopher and professor at the University of Burgundy.

Vinciane Despret is a philosopher and the author of a number of books on animal issues, including Que diraient les animaux, si... on leur posait les bonnes questions? (La Découverte, 2014), Hans, le cheval qui savait compter (Les Empêcheurs de penser en rond, 2015), Penser comme un rat (Quae, 2009) and others.
She has also written two books on the relationship between the living and the dead and how the latter influence the former: Au bonheur des morts (La Découverte, 2017) and in 2023 Les Morts à l'œuvre (Empêcheurs de penser en rond). The latter work devotes several chapters to works initiated by the Consortium Museum, Xavier Douroux and the Nouveaux commanditaires (Obélisques by Steven Gontarski in Chaucenne in 2007, Un pont sans fin by Oscar Tuazon in Offemont in 2016, L'affaire des incendies by Anita Molinero in Longepierre in 2009.
