Founded in 2004, DakhaBrakha is a musical group from Kiev that has produced seven albums, and whose name means "to give/take" in old Ukrainian. Drawing on the soul and folklore of the Ukraine for the rhythms, polyphonies and traditional songs they have collected over the years, the four performers of DakhaBrakha capture the quintessence of this music in a melting pot of rock, tribal and world music influences. With their lively percussion, typical costumes and a sense of vocal and instrumental prowess, DakhaBrakha hits the nail on the head: tradition enters into dialogue with a universal musical language, giving this concert all the hallmarks of a great evening of sharing.
