La Néréide | Luzzaschi : il concerto segreto

Made up of three talented young sopranos, the ensemble La Néréide plunges with delight into the virtuoso madrigals of the Italian Luzzasco Luzzaschi, invented for the famous Ladies of Ferrara at the end of the 16th century.

1580, at the court of Duke Alfonso II of Ferrara in Italy: three professional singers from the entourage of the duke's new wife formed the concerto delle donne. Their skill, the beauty of their voices and their admirable musical technique became legendary and served as a source of inspiration for many artists of the time. Among them was Luzzasco Luzzaschi, court organist, who devised a set of madrigals for these three soloists, exceptional for their vocal richness and the refinement of their writing. Alongside Julie Roset, who has performed several times in Dijon with Leonardo García Alarcón, Camille Allérat and Ana Vieira Leite, all three members of the young ensemble La Néréide, embark on a complete performance of these tailor-made pieces, written for equal voices, in a high-flying recital accompanied by an intimate instrumental ensemble.
