Parfum d'Orient... is a concert-dance featuring a trio of flute, vocals and piano, accompanied by an oud (a major instrument of Arab-Andalusian music) and a modern dancer.
Parfum d'Orient... the East meets the West.
Parfum d'Orient... where the colours and scents of other lands blend with the interpretation of Western musical works.
Parfum d'Orient... is the evocation of the Orient through arrangements with the warm tones of the oud to let our imagination wander to the other side of the seas.
Perfume of the Orient... and Western composers: Saint-Saëns, Hahn, Haendel, Offenbach, Verdi, Rameau, Vivaldi, Viardot, Donizetti, Fauré, Pergolèse...
Grésille Nouveau Souffle will be offering a convivial time after the concert on Saturday 2 December, with a tea room and oriental sweets from 9.30pm.
