S 62°58’, W 60°39’ (South 62 degrees 58 minutes, West 60 degrees 39 minutes)

The new work by Belgian company Peeping Tom catapults the spectator into an immersive experience that prefigures future apocalypses while playing with the codes of representation with humour.

Like a ship caught in the Arctic ice, our world sometimes seems adrift and powerless in the face of ongoing crises: pandemics, war, galloping inflation and global warming... Peeping Tom has turned this observation into a piece entitled S 62°58', W 60°39', which veers between a set verging on cinematic hyperrealism and an exhibited theatricality in which dancers/actors play out a... fake crisis. But who is really manipulating whom here? Behind the virtuosity of a mise en abyme, Peeping Tom plunges to the heart of questions that are more topical than ever in this age haunted by fake news, scepticism and disinformation, where the very concept of truth is the first to be in crisis.
