Sabine Devieilhe & Mathieu Pordoy

Soprano Sabine Devieilhe and pianist Mathieu Pordoy join forces for an intimate evening of German poetry, set to music by Mozart, Wolf, Strauss and Berg: an extraordinary collection of delicate gems.

In this recital, the early works of Wolfgang Amadeus Mozart meet those of Alban Berg, tracing deep connections and affinities between the Viennese classicism of the former and the self-taught beginnings of the latter at the dawn of the twentieth century. Between them, the masters of the post-romantic lied Hugo Wolf and Richard Strauss unfold in the intimacy of a salon programme, a superb setting for the luminous voice of Sabine Devieilhe on the stage of the Opéra de Dijon for the first time in recital, accompanied by the talented Mathieu Pordoy. A musical invitation under the sign of beauty, expressiveness and shared emotion.
