Definition of a chamber opera: a short opera with a small cast.
"Once upon a time, there was..." a desperate king, a dead queen, an enamoured princess, winged frogs - in short, all the traditional elements of a children's tale - and Damien Bouvet, alone on stage, achieves the feat of playing it all, making it all sound, sing, make it all sound, right down to the smallest detail...
Inspired by Madame d'Aulnoy's L'oiseau bleu (The Blue Bird), the hero of Bleu is Charmant, as his name suggests, and a prince. But he is cursed because he refuses to marry Truitonne. So he is transformed into a bird for seven years. But even if a blue bird is beautiful, Charmant doesn't really want to eat seeds for years. And then he fell madly in love with Florine, the most beautiful of the princesses. But how? How do you whistle all the love you feel for your beautiful one? Don't panic! The polymorphous performer will find a solution and make this marvellous polyphony burst forth.
